During my senior year as an editor at The DePaulia, I work each week to develop a pitch list and send it to a team of contrubiting writers and beat writers who report to me. Once their stories are filed, I complete the first round of edits, watching for grammatical and spelling errors, fact checking , and checking for conformity to the AP stylebook.

Working in this role has given me a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between journalists and PR professionals. Having been a journalist, I know how to talk to them, and I know what they need out of a pitch.
